About Kevin

KEVIN O’ROURKE recently appeared as Sheriff Tom Weinike on the WGN America series  OUTSIDERS, on MADAM SECRETARY and in the Barrington Stage Productions of TYPHOID MARY and GASLIGHT. He can be seen in the upcoming NETFLIX feature THE IRISHMAN, directed by Martin Scorsese, as well as the UNTITLED PICKLE MOVIE starring Seth Rogen. He is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Mayor Edward Bader in the HBO series BOARDWALK EMPIRE. Kevin has performed on Broadway in CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF with Kathleen Turner, SPOILS OF WAR with Kate Nelligan and ALONE TOGETHER with Kevin McCarthy, and at off-Broadway and regional theatres such as Manhattan Theatre Club, The Public, Second Stage, Playwrights Horizons, Roundabout, Primary Stages, Arena Stage, Seattle Rep, Alliance Theatre, Baltimore’s Centerstage, Long Wharf, and Williamstown Theatre Festival. Other onscreen credits include the films FREEHOLD, VICE VERSA, TURBULENCE, TATTOO, LAST BALL, THE AVIATOR, and the television series VEEP, MADAM SECRETARY, ELEMENTARY, LAW AND ORDER, DAMAGES, and THE SOPRANOS. In 2012 Kevin won a SAG award as a member of the BOARDWALK EMPIRE ensemble, he was also nominated for a SAG award for his work as Scott Sherwood on the AMC series REMEMBER WENN and for a Helen Hayes Award for the Arena Stage production of THE QUALITY OF LIFE.

As a director, Kevin staged the New York premiere of Abi Morgan's TENDER at the Michael Weller Theatre, and Jonathan Draxton's SOLDIER at HERE ARTS CENTER. He has also directed at WILLIAMSTOWN THEATRE FESTIVAL, WESTBANK CAFÉ, NEW DRAMATISTS, ACADIA REP and THE LARK THEATRE. From 2004 to 2015 he served as the Artistic Director of the WILLIAMS COLLEGE SUMMER THEATRE LAB. He continues to work with the Williams Theatre Department as the career program director and the Artistic Producing Director of the summer program STUDIO'62.
